I became a psychologist because someone once listened to me properly.
I’m Laureta Maliqi, a licensed psychologist based in Ferizaj, Kosovo. I hold a Master’s degree in clinical psychology and I have six years of practice behind me, working with adults and young adults — in clinics, in community mental-health settings, and now in my own practice.
Most people who come to me are not in crisis. They are tired. They wake up with a tight chest, lie awake at 2am with a mind that will not stop, or feel a panic they can’t explain in the middle of an ordinary Tuesday. What we do together is slow down that loop until it becomes understandable — and then workable.
I work in Albanian and English, online with clients across Kosovo and the diaspora — and a consulting room in Ferizaj is being prepared, for anyone who would rather sit in the same room. Therapy with me is structured but never rigid: we agree on what you want to change, we track whether it’s changing, and we adjust honestly if it isn’t.

Four things you can expect from me
Plain language
No jargon and no mystique. If I use a clinical term, I explain what it means for you.
A clear direction
We agree on goals early and revisit them. You should always know why we are doing what we are doing.
Real confidentiality
What you say stays in the room. The only exceptions are the legal ones, and I tell you about them first.
Honesty about fit
If someone else would serve you better, I will say so and help you find them.
If any of this sounds like the kind of help you want, the next step is small: one conversation.
