Terms of Service
Last updated
These terms govern the psychological services provided by Laureta Maliqi, a licensed psychologist in Ferizaj, Republic of Kosovo, and the use of this website.
By booking a session, you accept these terms.
1. Who provides the service
Laureta Maliqi, MSc in Clinical Psychology, licensed psychologist in the Republic of Kosovo, member of the Kosovo Doctors Chamber.
Contact: lauretamaliqi70@gmail.com, Ferizaj, Kosovo.
2. What this service is and is not
What is offered is psychotherapy and psychological counselling for adults, online. A consulting room in Ferizaj is being prepared; when it opens, in-person sessions will be offered there on the same terms.
This service is not:
- an emergency service. It is not monitored continuously. In immediate danger, call 112;
- a psychiatric service. Psychologists do not prescribe medication. If medication is worth considering, I will refer you to a psychiatrist;
- a legal or forensic assessment. I do not prepare reports for court proceedings, custody matters or similar purposes;
- a guarantee of outcome. See section 8.
3. Booking and confirmation
Booking does not happen on this site. It happens on Laureta’s appointment page in Google Calendar, which this site links to.
Your appointment is confirmed as soon as you book it — but Laureta may still propose a different time.
When you book:
- The time is reserved and Google sends you a confirmation email immediately.
- If the time does not work — for instance if what you describe would be better served by a longer session, or by someone else — Laureta writes to you before the appointment and suggests an alternative.
- If you hear nothing further, the appointment stands as booked.
Appointments are booked at least 3 days ahead and up to 60 days into the future. The three days exist so there is time for step 2 to happen.
Google Calendar is the data processor for what you enter on that page. What it collects and why is set out in the privacy policy.
4. Recurring appointments
There is no separate consultation to arrange before a first session, and no package to buy. You book a single session; if the work is to continue, we agree inside that session whether to set up a recurring appointment — weekly, every two weeks, or monthly — at the same day and time.
A recurring appointment is an arrangement, not a contract. Nothing is paid in advance for it, each session is paid for on its own, and you may change the rhythm or stop it at any time by telling me. Section 6 applies to each session in it individually.
5. Session lengths
- Every session, the first one included: 50 minutes
- Talks and workshops: by arrangement
Sessions start and end at the scheduled time. If you arrive late, the session still ends as planned and is charged in full — the time was held for you. If I am late, the time is made up or the session is not charged.
6. Cancellation and missed sessions
Cancelling is free up to 24 hours before the session.
After that, the session is charged in full, because the time was reserved for you and usually cannot be offered to someone else.
To cancel or reschedule, use the link in the confirmation email Google sent you, or write to lauretamaliqi70@gmail.com.
Exceptions are handled like a human being. Sudden illness, family emergencies and similar circumstances are not charged. This rule exists for repeated no-shows without notice, not for life.
If I have to cancel, I tell you as soon as possible and offer another time at no additional cost.
7. Fees and payment
Every session lasts 50 minutes and is charged at one rate, whatever it is about. The current amount is shown on the services page and on the booking page, before you book. Talks and workshops for organisations are the one exception: they are scoped and quoted individually, by email.
How payment is arranged. Appointments are booked at least 3 days ahead. Within that time:
- You receive an email with the fee and the bank transfer details.
- You reply to confirm which way you will pay, and ask anything you want answered before the session. An appointment is settled once that reply arrives.
- Payment is then made before or at the session. Online sessions are paid by bank transfer beforehand.
Recurring appointments. Each session in a recurring arrangement is paid for on its own, in the same way as a single one. No deposit is taken and no block of sessions is sold in advance, so there is nothing to forfeit and nothing to reclaim if you stop.
This website never takes payment. No card details are collected here and there is no payment processor. Bank details reach you only in an email from lauretamaliqi70@gmail.com. If a request to pay in my name reaches you any other way, it did not come from me.
Fees may change, but never for appointments already confirmed. Clients with a recurring appointment are given at least one month’s notice.
8. What can realistically be expected
Therapy works for most people, but no outcome can be guaranteed. Effectiveness depends on many factors, including the difficulty you arrive with, your engagement, and life circumstances outside the room.
What I do promise: evidence-based methods, an open review of progress every six sessions, and honesty if I think someone else would help you better.
You may stop therapy at any time, without explanation.
9. Confidentiality
Covered by the Confidentiality Policy, which forms part of these terms.
10. Personal data
Covered by the Privacy Policy.
11. Age
Laureta works with adults only. Sessions are for people aged 18 and over, and this applies however contact is made — a parent or guardian cannot arrange a session on behalf of someone under 18.
If you are looking for support for a young person, a psychologist working with children and adolescents is the right person to approach, and Laureta is happy to point you towards one.
12. Content on this site
The articles and exercises in the Feeling Better section are general educational information. They are not individual clinical advice and are not a substitute for therapy or medical treatment.
13. Changes
These terms may be updated. The date at the top shows the current version. For confirmed appointments, the terms in force at the time of confirmation apply.
14. Governing law
The legislation of the Republic of Kosovo applies.
